Welcome to the 3rd Host legion of Nurgle. I decided to create my own legion and history rather than follow a mainstream pre-written theme because I never want to do things the easy waysmilie

A bit of fluff for the fluffy people.

Septus was created by Fabius Bile from cloning a piece of Typhus, the First Herald of Nurgle. Bile did this to appease his goddess Slaneesh but she wasnt impressed and Septus would have been destroyed except he escaped and made his way into death legion held territories where everyone thought he was Typhus.

Nurgle thought this was most amusing to have two heralds of equal measure, and it suited his vile plans. Whilst appearing to appease Abbadon the despoilers demands for a united 13th crusade by sending Typhus and a plague fleet to his amassing amarda, Nurgle syphoned materials and troops for his own personal crusade and scheme. This became known as the third Host Legion of Nurgle.

Septus was infused with a new batch or strain of the many virus`s of Nurgles creation.Septus sees himself as merely the carrier for Nurglles creation and his mission is to spread Nurgles children as far as he can. The army itself was secretly formed and infected on one of the many moons within the eye of terror. The thirds motto is " For the Father, For the third!".

Below is Septus, He took roughly six hours to complete. The base was overdone, as many of the details are lost underneath the models bulk.

The idea of the slashed helmet and the words "Next" were formulated at about three in the morning.

And the second Hq choice is a sorcerer. The model is from Forgeworld which adds to the detailing, and to the challenge of painting it!

And the beginnings of the 1st squad, although they may be "altered" as I go along.....

The base colour for this army is 4 parts bonemould white with one part skull white. A second lighter coat is applied on selected parts to enhance the putrid look. I follow this up with some devlan mud wash carefully left to thicken and then applied with some trepidation ( I am new to washes and inks). I think metals are my weak point at the moment and I am experimenting as I go along.smilie

They've come out well Jason, I enjoyed the fluff too.

Thanks, You`ll have to thank Mark for the excellent photography, I was a bit of a technophobe till a few years ago so I am learning how to use the forum, slowly, if I make mistakes, please let me know! If anyone wants to ask questions or get more fluff I am happy to oblige and if anyone has advice it is more than welcome. I am now working towards the second and third squads + I found some rules for zombified traitors so I am now attempting to collect bits and bobs for that idea....I think my Nurgle loving army is going to expand somewhat rapidly....

Well, yesterday I entered my Nurgle loving troops into the GW painting comp and I won! I even got a prize, a new game for my gaming room, the mines of Moria, a Lord of the ring starter box set, very nice. I was very suprised and pleased.
